Lesson 132: Plural S Form of Words I (Word Building)
The instructor:
Reads each word and asks each child whether the word refers to one (singular) or many (multiple).
cat
cats
cake
cakes
rope
ropes
Shows each word in the list and asks children to sound out the word. (Do not tell children the words. Let them figure it out on their own with prompting as necessary.)
Points out to children that the 's' on the end of words often indicates more than one.
Asks children to build the words out of tiles and to point at each tile while making the associated sound.
Mastery occurs when the instructor points to any word on the list and children can sound it out on their own.
